This is the Faverolle rooster.. isn't he precious? He's the little brown guy sitting in the bowl.
We're still working on the pen...coming along but not quick enough. The turkey poults have been moved out to the house. They are almost 4 weeks old now. I'm still learning a whole lot about these fellows...they are interesting but not near as much fun to watch as the peeps.
We've also been invaded by these little guys.. yep, little tiny frogs EVERYWHERE! And they're disgusting! I don't even like to look down when I'm walking around because I know I'm stepping on them but I have to watch out for snakes. They are from the house all the way to the barn and out in the pasture. Yuk! Now I wish I had a mess of ducks to turn loose on all the frogs.
Happy Trails...

invasion of frogs - something biblical about that! :)
ReplyDeleteLove all your new little peeps! :) I wonder what caused the frog invasion? I would hate to step on them too! Ewwww!
ReplyDeleteOh gosh, I'd forgotten how tiny peeps are. :) One of my Buff Orpingtons appears to have gone broody. Have to decide if I need more myself!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the new additions. Sorry to hear about the frogs. Ick!
ReplyDeleteThanks Berte, for stopping by my blog and leaving a comment. I know you are happy of your arrival of the peeps. I scrolled back and got a glimpse of your chicken house is soooooo adorable. I love it...... Good luck with the peeps.......Sheryl
ReplyDeleteYup, home laid eggs do taste better!! Your turkeys are in their "awkward" stage. Ugh, I'd rather step on a frog then a snake, but we don't have ones that are gonna kill us up here. Cowboy boots on ALL the time for sure. I've never been to Texas, but would LOVE to someday.
ReplyDeleteI know how you feel about the wait for your own eggs. We started completely over this year too, with new peeps. I'm counting down the days until they start laying.
ReplyDeleteI love the peeps!!! The frogs, I don't love...Our Scottie bit one this week that was poisonous and suffice it to say, that while I've not minded them for 5 years, now they're being evicted from their home under our porch.
ReplyDeleteSweet little peeps. The little rooster is a cutie.

Thanks so much for coming by my site. Just look at all your cute critters, how I miss living on the farm, there was always a new baby someplace. Thanks for the pictures.
