Do I even let the words slip through my mouth? Should I even be thinking it? Okay...I'm already sick of Super Bowl Sunday. There..I said it.. We had a wonderful church service this morning, then home for a great meal shared with friends, fed all the critters and then the tv came on. Ugh... I guess I'm going to be chastized but I just can't get all that excited about a football game. Now, of all things, the President is on tv during all this Super Bowl audience. What is going on?
I am thankful that the sun is shining and it's a beautiful day for a football game in Arlington. I do hope everyone has a safe and fun Super Bowl Day!
I will watch the game, Berte, but I couldn't be more turned off by the entire phony buildup and the sinful idolization of money, power and pride surrounding it. I feel quite confident in saying this ain't real pleasin' to God. If you get a chance, take a look at my blog post for today. God bless.
ReplyDeleteOh Sugar,
ReplyDeleteI am so with you on this one. I don't understand the hype though I do love the commercials for the most part. Spent 1/2 my day outside; just to beautiful out today to be inside.
Take care,
Mal

We are not Football fans..but I guess it is a big day for those who enjoy it..give me a good old Ice Hockey game anyday:)
ReplyDeleteHi Berte - me either! It was fun in the earlier days when the Cowboys were usually there. Not so fun anymore. The half-time was horrible, the commercials a little lack-luster, and the national anthem botched up good. I hate the way some of those pop singers make a complete paragraph out of a one-syllable word!!! (can't take credit for that - I saw it in the news...) I complete waste of time. I wound up napping on the couch while the hubby watched. Only redeeming thing was that I got to just sit and snuggle and do absolutely nothing for a few hours with my guy! I hope you have a wonderful week!
ReplyDeleteI am glad it is over. There was so much talk talk talk, that I got tired of it before it happened. We do not have TV service anymore (our family's choice) so we did not watch it. My husband didn't care to watch it this year either, though there were places he could have gone to watch it.
ReplyDeleteI was starting to think we were the only people who did not care about it!
p.s. I like Clint's comment.
yeah- you are posting again.. well at least every once in a while!! I thought maybe you gave up on it.
